The Father knows that you need them

“Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.” Matthew 6,31-33 (NKJV)

Jesus asks in verse 25 of the same chapter: “Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes?” (NIV) As children of God, Jesus wants to open our eyes to the reality of the abundant life and not the surviving life.

This was the story of the Israelites. God delivered them from the hand of Pharaoh and took them on a journey to their promised land. However, they were so accustomed to being slaves! The reactions of most Israelites in the wilderness revealed how difficult it was for them to believe what God had for them: to be a nation in their own land. They complained for food, for meat, for water, for the wilderness, for their situation and yet God was preparing them to be a nation of priests and kings.

“No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money. Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life,..” Matthew 6,24-25(NIV)

Jesus calls us to let go of worry and to have faith; to elevate our vision on what concerns the Father.

The way God sustains the birds and beautifies the flowers is the way, and way more, He takes care of his children who trust in Him. (Matthew 6,26-30)

God wants to give significance to people's lives.

In fact, He has already planned everything. It’s up to each one to discover that plan.

Romans 8,19 says that the earth, the creation waits eagerly for the revealing of the sons of God.

As a child of God, your standard has been set high.

With the Holy Spirit within you, living what is called a “normal life” would be unfortunate.

There lays a responsibility on children of God: to be the representatives of God on earth that they are; functioning in all the power and authority that have been given to them in Christ Jesus.

The Father knows what you need and He is willing and will provide all that you need and more!

All the blessings of God are for you to have!  But certain questions need to be asked: what is the purpose of having wealth, having a spouse, children, societal influence, status, etc.? Their purpose should be to God’s service. Your personal fulfillment (wholeness) was never designed to be acquired in nothing other than God Himself.

“Don’t let anyone capture you with empty philosophies and high-sounding nonsense that come from human thinking and from the spiritual powers of this world, rather than from Christ. For in Christ lives all the fullness of God in a human body. So you also are complete through your union with Christ, who is the head over every ruler and authority.” Colossians 2,8-10 (NLT)
