“After these things I looked, and behold, a great multitude which no one could number, of all nations, tribes, peoples, and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, with palm branches in their hands, and crying out with a loud voice, saying, “Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!” Revelation 7,9-10 (NKJV)

Adam, Adam! What did you do!

The consequences of a man’s actions can be so blurry in the moment of temptation.

In the garden of Eden, God meant it when He said to Adam: “Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat; but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.” (Genesis 2,17). But later, the serpent gave a different story: “You will not surely die” (Genesis 3,4)

“Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned” Romans 5,12 (NKJV)

We can’t really blame Adam, because what Adam did, we’ve also done. At one time in our life (to say the least), we’ve chosen our own way instead of God’s way, believing the empty promises (lies) of the devil unaware. Everyone born of the seed of man has this sinful nature that wants to act against God as explained in Romans 5,19 "For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so also by one Man’s obedience many will be made righteous." This is the good news: by Jesus Christ, we obtain a new nature - the righteous nature when we believe in Him. The obedience mentioned above refers to Jesus’ death on the cross (Philippians 2,8).

“For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus,  who gave Himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time” 1 Timothy 2,5-6 (NKJV)

To understand why Jesus had to die on the cross, let’s talk about the law (of Moses).

"For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ." John 1,17 (NKJV)

The law given through Moses was a series of do’s and don’ts with their respective consequences: obedience to the law gave way to blessings, disobedience gave way to curses, and many more rules and regulations.

The law has proved to mankind that man will always come short on God’s standard of good and evil, and that they will suffer the consequence of their sin. However, because God is loving, holy, righteous, and true to His word, He came up with a permanent solution for this problem: to deal with sin (and the sinful nature) and the consequent death issue (death in all its dimensions: spiritual, emotional, physical) and also restore His relationship with man, on the basis of GRACE and FAITH.

"In fact, according to the law of Moses, nearly everything was purified with blood. For without the shedding of blood, there is no forgiveness" Hebrews 9,22(NLT)

This is why Jesus is referred to as the Lamb: the perfect and ultimate sacrifice of God. Jesus laid down His life and shed His blood for humanity. For you and for me.

“Then I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you will be clean. Your filth will be washed away, and you will no longer worship idols. And I will give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit in you. I will take out your stony, stubborn heart and give you a tender, responsive heart.” Ezekiel 36, 25-26 (NLT)

“I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will keep My judgments and do them.” Ezekiel 36,27 (NKJV)

In addition, Jesus' resurrection has guaranteed us victory and a glorious life with Him here on earth and for eternity.

"Therefore, since [these His] children share in flesh and blood [the physical nature of mankind], He Himself in a similar manner also shared in the same [physical nature, but without sin], so that through [experiencing] death He might make powerless (ineffective, impotent) him who had the power of death—that is, the devil—  and [that He] might free all those who through [the haunting] fear of death were held in slavery throughout their lives.” Hebrews 2,14-15 (AMP)

God, the Father, knows each one of us and has created each one of us for His purpose. He has done everything necessary and beyond for us to live out LIFE through His Son Jesus Christ.

“Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed.

And in Your book they all were written,

The days fashioned for me,

When as yet there were none of them.”

Psalm 139,16 (NKJV)
