“Then the brethren immediately sent Paul and Silas away by night to Berea. When they arrived, they went into the synagogue of the Jews. These were more fair-minded than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness, and searched the Scriptures daily to find out whether these things were so.” Acts 17,10-11 (NKJV)

One thing that will take your relationship with God to the next level is studying the Scriptures.

Pick up your Bible and read it. Make a decision to study it. Give it your time. Give God your time.

Read and write what you read. You’ll be amazed how God will speak to you through the written word.

You’ll know who God is and you’ll know who you are. The Holy Spirit who inspired every single letter is ready and waiting for you to sit and listen to what He has to tell you.

“The rich man had to admire the dishonest rascal for being so shrewd. And it is true that the children of this world are more shrewd in dealing with the world around them than are the children of the light.” Luke 16,8 (NLT)

Jesus makes this observation in Luke 16,8 that the people of this world are more shrewd in dealing with their own kind than are the people of the light (NIV); they know how to deal in their world more than the people of light. Jesus is not telling his disciples to act like the children of this world. No, He said: They are in the world but not of the world (John 17,15-16). The lesson here is shrewdness.

If you are a child of God, you are a child of light. (Colossians 1,13)

Get to know how the kingdom of light operates.

Do not be ignorant, learn to function in your true identity.

When you hear a Scripture in a sermon and it catches your attention or you read it in an article, look it up in your Bible and read it for yourself. By meditating the Word of God, you become empowered to do it or to become it. You will make your way prosperous, and you will have good success (Joshua 1,8).

“Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.” Romans 12,1-2(NIV)
